How is the housing market fairing in the 4th quarter?
Bryan Vogt here. In the past two years, we have seen double-digit increases in home prices, multiple offers, and sellers getting over the list time and time again. However, we are not seeing as many multiple offers as before in this 4th quarter and homes are staying on the market a little longer than before.
Which could indicate a change in our market in the new year. Does that mean I know what the market is going to be in the new year? No, nor any other agent in this market. And especially not Zillow who reported they lost over half a billion dollars. That’s a billion with a B. Trying to guess what homes would sell for in the future!
But with interest rates still at historic lows. Is it possible by next year they could double? And it would be hard to imagine that by next year there wouldn’t be more homes coming on the market increasing the competition. That could turn our market it into a buyers’ market
But as we speak now buyers have still shown a strong interest in buying and getting in by the holidays or at least by the beginning of the year. I am a big believer, unlike Zillow, in the now when it comes to real estate. And right now, sellers are still having great success in the 4th quarter. So, if you are considering selling this is still a great time to have success. And no don’t worry about if the pool is closed, the grass isn’t as green, and flowers aren’t blooming as some sellers are concerned about. A professional agent will have no problems marketing your home for you to have the success you deserve in this market!
