Mayor Ken Mueller tells us the reason to move to Swansea, Il. One big reason is the choice of schools. Swansea has seven elementary schools and several private schools along with three high schools. All of the schools are highly rated by the state of Illinois, the classes are generally small and one of the district is the O’Fallon school district. They are all dependent on where in Swansea you choose to live. The price range of home in Swansea run from starter homes to some priced at over one million dollars.
There is a real sense of community there. About 60% of the population is retired or current military and they take an active part in community affairs. The police force has both vehicle and bike patrols and it takes the time to become acquainted with the school children both at school and outside of school so they feel safe and learn to trust them.
